The new department store consists of a refurbished building with coarse brick facade and a pair of new volumes. When designing the house we have intended to deal with two contradictory concerns: to maximize the usage of the plot and at the same time create a passage that will be open to the public 24 hours a day. Houses with public space and courtyard balconies were often built in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the past, but nowadays they are no longer built. Therefore the new department store is divided into two double-storey volumes with a passage covered by a glass roof between them. On both floors there are shops that open into the passage and the street with large format windows, which allows both view into the interior and a lot of attractive apertures through the whole department store.
