The design was prepared for the 2009 Petr Parléř Prize, a contest for the most interesting architectural designs for public spaces, buildings and interiors in state administration. Our project was awarded third place in the competition, which had seven different categories.
The ruins of the Štramberk castle form a dominant feature of the local landscape. However, the surroundings of Štramberk’s Trúba Tower do not reflect the importance of this monument.
The project meets the requirements on building the exhibition and wedding ceremony halls without significantly affecting the listed monuments or the skyline of the castle. The jury appreciated our treatment of the landmark, which respected the original historical building of Jaroněk’s hostel while at the same time completing the composition of ramparts by adding new modern elements.
