Kopřivnice
Study: 2011
The architectural study deals with an adaptation of a former basic school building, one of the few preserved historical buildings in Kopřivnice, for the purposes of Zdeněk Burian art school that needs more space. The building has good prerequisites for its new function which doesn't differ much from the previous one. The core of the art school is an auditorium which is designed to replace what used to be a gymnasium. The classrooms of the three fields taught at the art school – dancing, music and visual arts – take advantage of the three-tract disposition with the central corridor, which is a typical layout of public buildings built at the beginning of the 20th century.
